New gigs, art shows and new music

Hey all, it's been quite a while since I have posted here. So much has happened in the last 8 to 10 months, it's too much to go into here. I may have to write a book ha! Anyway, lets get down to it. Crooked Man has tons of shows coming up. First, July 10th we play Saint Vitus with Cousin Sleaze, FM Circuits CO, and Toaster. Here is the digi flyer. It's going to be an incredible night at one of Brooklyn's best venues.

 After that we have a surprise show that we will announce a little closer to that date as to not spoil the fun. Then in late August Crooked Man will play the Grand Victory in Brooklyn with Spirit Animal and Descender. More info on that show coming soon. 

 In other news, fellow, Brooklyn born, artist/musician, Joseph Milazzo and I have been collaborating on some lofty ideas as of late, keep an eye out for some big announcements soon.

Lastly, fellow Candirian Michael MacIvor and I have been working on a group of recordings loosely inspired by ambience and space. We expect to have the recordings done in the next couple of weeks. The recordings will then go into mix mode where we will put the finishing touches on them and see what to do with them from there. This project has no name yet and we have no precise plan as to what to do with this but we are both extremely excited about it! OK folks, thats all for now. Crooked Man @ Saint Vitus and J. Christmas

Freaks, fascists, fablers, fellow enablers and fornicators. Welcome, once again, to my blog. A bunch of things to cover so I will dive right in. Most importantly, this Saturday night Crooked Man will be hosting and headlining one of Brooklyn's best music venues, Saint Vitus. If you have not yet been to Saint Vitus in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, this would be a great opportunity to check the place out. We really love playing this place, there's always a great turn out and the general vibe of the place is perfect for music of the darker nature. Our super cool new drummer, Matt Kepler also works there so we feel right at home when we perform there. Also playing that night will be fellow earth shakers, Eyes Of The Sun, Grandfather and Bearface. Doors are at 8PM we hit the stage at 11:30PM It will be a fun and interesting night. All the bands on the bill are really great.This is the 11 x 17 poster I designed for the show. In other news, Julie Christmas and Co. Will be going into Translator Audio Recording Studios in the early fall to demo some new material for what will eventually become material for the next full length album by the band. Included in the band are members of Tidal Arms, Pigs, Crooked Man and Victory At Sea.

 Lastly I will be participating in an art exhibit this fall which I cannot announce just yet but this fall right around Halloween, I will be showing some of my work, which I rarely do. OK that is all for now, thank you all for reading and supporting me, Crooked Man, my music and my art.

Hello all, It's been some time since I last posted about what I have been up to as of late. It is a very exciting time in my life. I seem to finally be getting somewhere haha.
 First and foremost I would like to take this opportunity to put the word out that my band Crooked Man is looking for a drummer. We are trying out a few in the next couple of weeks or so but for the most part we are still searching for that very special someone so to speak to join our Crooked lil family.  OK now that that is out of the way.. on to more exciting things. I recently designed a tee shirt for The Dillinger Escape Plan. I am extremely excited about this little bit of work that i did for those fellas. They have been great friends of mine over the years and that still to this day has not changed at all. They are one of the hardest working bands in the business and I wish them all the best!! So anyway if you are interested in checking that out and picking one up, please visit www.thedillingerescapeplan.org My favorite thing about this whole venture is that when the tee shirts have sold out, we will be auctioning off the original piece of work. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to charity.
Here is an image of the "Parasitic Twins" hand drawn part of the design.. which will be auctioned off a little later this year. It feels good to do some good with art.

Meanwhile, I am finally, officially,  the proud owner of a legitimate business. I just recently opened a music building in Gowanus / South Park Slope called The South Sound. We offer monthly and yearly leases for rehearsal rooms and art spaces. We also have two really incredible recording studios on the premises, Translator Audio and Civil Defense. In those studios are some of the best Producers and Engineers on the East Coast and we are currently booking bands. I am very happy after all the hard work we have been doing, myself and my partners and an incredible group of friends and family that have been giving tons of their time and energy to make this happen. Somehow, sometime soon, we will find a way to thank everyone that has helped us with everything that had to get done. It was no easy task by any means.  Meanerwhile, I am working on a score for a short film called Stairway To Heaven by Director Blake Cortez. Blake and I have been discussing working together on many things and we finally had the opportunity to do so recently. The film does not have an official release date yet but there will be more news about it soon enough!!! OK folks thats about it for now, More news soon ;)

CROOKED MAN RELEASES COEXTINCTION XII ON CD

Coextinction recordings has been releasing BBC style recordings for a little over a year now. These impromptu sessions are recorded in one or two days and mixed and mastered in one. As was the Crooked Man Coextinction 12 session. With Andrew Schneider at the board, engineering, mixing and mastering, the session ran smooth and ended just a lil over three days total. Usually the sessions time limitations permit no more than two to three songs, Andrew Schneider and Crooked Man completed an ambitious four songs total.
 The music is doomy, melodic and at times aggressive and extremely energetic.

 Originally available at www.coextinction.com exclusively, along with all of the other coextinction sessions, session 12 is now available on a limited edition home made and hand crafted CD. Limited to a total of 200 pieces. With Art direction and execution by John LaMacchia, the cover is printed on a high gloss photo paper, hand cut with DIY style inserts and assembled into a poly CD sleeve. The CD itself is finished with a metallic gold spray paint, air dried and there you have it!!

Crooked Man release in one week.. and more!!!

 John LaMcchia and co. are gearing up for the release date of their debut EP, Coextinction Recordings #12. Engineered, recorded and co produced in just three days by Andrew Schneider (Julie christmas, Unsane, Cave In) for Coextinction Records . Out on Thursday, December 15th., this dark, doomy and ambitious release is just a taste of what Crooked Man is made of. The band will be peforming the evening of the 15th at Sullivan Hall at 730pm sharp in support of the EP and in support of  Tim (No. 37) Martinez' anti hate crime and anti suicide support movement, Hate The Hate. This is the second installment of live peformances supporting Hate The Hate and this should be a great night and a great cause to be part of. So please come down to Sullivan Hall, once again, Thursday, December 15th at 7PM and experience Crooked Man in one of New York Cities best sounding venues.
